The Site Project Engineer will be based and work at the construction site for the duration of the project construction & commissioning, up to the start of the commercial operation.

This project site is in Coke County, near the town of Tennyson, Texas. The project construction is expected to be completed in the third quarter, 2026.

Job Description

The Project Engineer will represent the Project Company on site and will support the rest of the construction management team in all aspects of the site work, including the daily reporting and management, coordination of the construction site and construction contractors, quality control review, and logistics. The Project Engineer will also develop and implement document control systems and procedures as needed. The roles and responsibilities of the Project Engineer include successful project planning, execution, and closure. The Project Engineer will oversee all construction activities to ensure high quality project safely, on time schedule and within budget. The Project Engineer successfully achieves objectives related to safety, schedule tracking, interfaces, and facilitation.

Specific Tasks And Deliverables:

Safety:

  • Participate in the Review and verify contractors’ compliance with the Health and Safety plan, regulations, good industry practices and OSHA requirements at the site.
  • Monitor and report, on a daily basis, the safety at site, including but not limited to participate in daily tool box talks, weekly safety meetings, review and comment on contractor’s pre-task analysis, verify completion of all safety orientation, verify that the correct and required licenses are held for each person on site who is operating equipment, equipment at site are in a safe operating condition, and that the site is kept neat and tidy.
  • Ensure all safety practice and records are maintained at site.
  • Work with the contractors to ensure a safe working environment for all.

General:

  • Work with the contractors on all aspects of the quality process and ensure that proper documentation and records are done and maintained by contractors regarding Health and Safety, and Quality Control.
  • Review and verify contractors’ compliance with technical specifications, codes, norms, quality plan, procedures and quality control at site.
  • Comply with Akuo’s policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the contractors and ensure minutes are kept.
  • Check, monitor, assess and report that the contractors fulfill the work required on time, safely and with the required quality
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with contractors
  • Develop and maintain good neighbor relationships with local community and landowners

Project Control:

  • Liaise with contractors and report progress (daily, weekly and monthly report) to Akuo management.
  • Review and track completion certificates, punch lists, and documentation handover

Engineering, Design And Procurement:

  • Track engineering documentation, as built, RFI and documentation in general.
  • Review and follow up material status reports to ensure timely delivery at site

Construction:

  • Monitor construction activities and track progress against schedule and budget.
  • Record any project deviation (scope, schedule, budget).
  • Mediate landowner and local community complaints.
  • Manage the interface with County Engineer and Township Highway Commissioner and be the focal point for any Road Use Agreement matter.
  • Support the Construction Team with the wind turbines deliveries
  • Track all interfaces between the project contractors (Turbine suppliers, EPC contractor, Interconnection provider and O&M Building)
  • Verify that Construction documentation handover from contractors is complete.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in construction in general (PV Solar Farm construction is preferred), Junior can be considered.
  • College degree with either engineering background (preferred), or construction management background.
  • PMP qualification is not mandatory but is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite is required; experience with project management software (Microsoft Project) is a plus.
  • Good understanding and practice of health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Analytical skills to be able to understand and interpret complex paperwork and administration.
  • Written communication to be able to write reports and complete paperwork and administrative tasks.
  • Verbal communication skills to enable effective communication at all levels and able to develop good relationships with clients and contractors.
