Job Description
Job Purpose:
- Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer establishes a set of activities intended to assure confidence that quality requirements will be identifying which are a "value add" to the enterprise and assuring compliance to them. This includes analysis, reviews, audits, demonstration, inspection, testing, and metrics to assure systems capability and control. This position requires proactive quality leadership to drive lean methodologies and behaviors.
Responsibilities:
The Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer provides quantitative and qualitative reporting, to various functions and levels in the enterprise to assure compliance to established Quality Management Systems. This will be accomplished by performing the following duties:
- Establishes and assures a program for internal, external and 3rd party audits (ISO9001, AS9100, ISO14001,and OHSAS18001, others) are completed to established schedule
- Establishes and assures effective root cause and closed loop corrective action updates in various databases (Internal Audit, RMA, MRB, NCR, 8D) for product related customer and supplier nonconformance’s Manage
- Establishes and assures periodic and on time quality record keeping, analysis and reporting of critical to quality (CTQ) indicators such as product defect rate, customer returns and cost of quality. Present departmental performance to senior staff members
- Provide and assures customer advocacy by understanding customer requirements and assuring compliance through root cause corrective action close loop corrective action planning and implementation
- Establishes and assures periodic quality record keeping, analysis and reporting of critical to quality (CTQ) indicators such as product defect rate, customer returns and cost of quality. Presents departmental performance to senior staff members
- Demonstrate and coordinate with various departments effective deployment of quality tools (8D, 5 Why, FMEA, Control Plans, 7 QC Tools)
- Establishes and assures effective root cause and closed loop corrective action updates in various databases (Internal Audit, RMA, MRB, NCR, 8D) for product related customer and supplier non-conformance’s
- Establish and assures Change Management Review (EN, EICN) Process requirements are fully identified and validated
- Assures requirements Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems as well as Quality Management System are maintained in capability and control
- Constructively contributes to Department functions – meetings, goals, training, etc.
- Review of High Reliability orders for C of C and data summary requirements
- Completes any additional assignments as requested by department supervisor
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
Education / Experience
- BS Degree in Engineering or 5 to 10 years’ experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in Lab Environment
- Must demonstrate sound knowledge and skill in quality
- Certifications highly desirable: CQE, CAQ
Skills/Knowledge
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write detailed reports and correspondence. Attention to detail and accuracy is required
- Complex data analysis with good verbal, written presentation skills
- Work with mathematical concepts as required for basic statistical quality tools (SPC, CPK, DOE)
- Use tools such as callipers, micrometres, optical comparators…etc.
- Reads work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints and engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface, finish dimensions, testing procedures and equipment to be used
- Calibration system requirements per ANSI/NCSL Z540-1
- Travel %: 0-5% some travel may be required for training and/or other business purposes
