What we are looking for

Avery Dennison’s North America Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Early Career Program (EHSECP) has a single business focus to build talent for our rapidly growing organization. With a concentrated blend of experiential on-the-job learning and classroom and virtual training, the EHSECP serves as the talent pipeline for EHS roles throughout the organization.

We are looking for agile problem solvers who enjoy working in a dynamic and collaborative manufacturing environment to be our next EHS Associate. Associates receive in-depth exposure to multiple areas/divisions of our business.  Our program is flexible and passionate about the development needs of our associates alongside the needs of the business.  With a 24-30 month rotational training curriculum that is rooted in our Avery Dennison values, and will guide you on your career path.

We are considering individuals who are passionate about working in any of the following states post graduation:

As you will be participating in two 12-month rotations.  At the time of offer, location will be unknown and provided in late November for January start dates and late April for June start dates.

What you will be doing

The primary roles and responsibilities of this EHS ECP can be in the following areas:  

  • Environmental Compliance

  • Air Emissions

  • Stormwater Management

  • Wastewater Compliance

  • Waste Management

  • Sustainability (recycling programs, landfill reduction programs)
  • Health Management

  • Conducting Industrial Hygiene Sampling
  • Completing noise studies and noise mapping
  • Leading noise reduction projects
  • Complete chemical inventory assessments
  • Managing Site Safety Data Sheet databases
  • Lead key site strategic initiatives to reduce injuries
  • Conduct site-wide equipment assessments
  • Develop / design guarding solutions to reduce human / machine interaction.
  • Develop material handling solutions to reduce physical demands. 
  • Update / standardize written safety compliance programs and standard work.

Qualifications

What you will need to bring to the program

Avery Dennison has a long history of being an industry leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety / Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering with a focus on Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial. Expected graduation date should be December 2025 (to start in January 2026) or May 2026 (to start in June 2026).

Preferred Experience

  • Previous internship/co-op experience required or relevant work experience within manufacturing or EH&S
  • Experience via student organizations, such as Engineers without Borders, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers etc. 
  • Volunteerism or similar activities
  • Ability to travel 10 - 20 percent of the time

Additional Information

The salary for this position is $82,500 /year. 

The base salary above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
