The Role

This Senior Business Analyst role will be a member of the Business Analysis Center of Excellence and will support strategic enhancements to Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) Data Platforms, helping to enable capabilities that support growth in the Investment Grade Bond business. The Senior Business Analyst will help lead initiatives with diverse scope and complexity, acting as the interface between business practitioners, customers, and Agile product delivery teams following guidelines for business analysis best practices. The Senior Business Analyst will collaborate closely with a group of cross-functional team members who are responsible for delivering solutions and achieving business objectives through a shared product partnership, this role will work with business partners to gather and assess complex business requirements and translate strategy into executable solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring 

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems 
  • A minimum of five years of related experience; Financial Services and Investment Operations experience preferred 
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of tools and techniques for presenting and analyzing data including; SQL, Access, Excel, and relational databases; Experience with Master Data Management highly desirable
  • Proficiency in investment instruments, financial markets, Fixed Income Trading, and Bloomberg data preferred 
  • Proven expertise in various business analysis methodologies and techniques, including data analysis, use case development, story writing, user acceptance testing, and product documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the fundamental technology and software architecture of an application
  • Affinity for data; where to get it, how to use it, what it means 
  • Ability to translate business requirements into well-defined key performance indicators 
  • A highly curious and motivated learner with strong problem-solving skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; Communicates clearly, concisely and impactfully to influence others 
  • Approaches work with an open mind and sense of creativity by challenging current practices and recommending improvements to mitigate risks and drive positive change

The Team

Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields for a wide variety of investment products; preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns; monitoring delivery of fund trades to custodian banks; processing corporate actions; collecting securities income on behalf of the funds; reconciling, reporting and moving money in support of fund shareholder transactions; and managing fund liquidity.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
