Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing and delivering accurate statutory financial statements and tax accounting reporting for EMEA. Key responsibilities of this role include managing daily accounting operations, preparing statutory financial statements and tax reporting.

The EMEA Accounting Manager will work collaboratively with key financial and operations business partners to ensure all accurate financial records and regulatory compliance are met and delivered on time.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, tax reporting, and the month-end close process
  • Prepare the quarterly and annual tax packages for the Corporate Tax team and collaborate on long-term tax planning and forecasting strategies
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and timely submission of the R&D Tax Return in partnership with the R&D team and external tax consultants
  • Support and review the Corporate Income Tax and Corporate Interest Restriction returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance in collaboration with the Corporate Tax team and advisors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT, local tax obligations, and other statutory reporting requirements across jurisdictions
  • Coordinate the preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation – Local file with Corporate Tax team and local consultants
  • Assist in the execution of external, internal, and special audits, with a particular focus on statutory and tax-related audits
  • Oversee pension accounting, reporting, and compliance activities - prepare the documentation for actuarial valuation, review the Pension Assumptions and prepare the SOX control
  • Facilitate the setup of new legal entities or the dissolution of dormant ones, working closely with the Corporate Tax and Legal teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced reporting quality, particularly in statutory and tax accounting, and support the implementation of related action plans
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the local accounting team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in accounting or finance, and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience working in Finance and Accounting, with deep experience and knowledge about Statutory and Tax Accounting across EMEA region
  • Strong background in working with auditors and external accounting/tax consultants - experience with Big 4 firms is a significant advantage
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Project management skills for various change management/process improvement initiatives across Statutory Accounting processes for EMEA
  • Proven ability in working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Strong IT skills – (i.e., ORACLE, Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase, OBIEE)
