This role will be pivotal in identifying, designing and delivering learning experiences that empower our employees to thrive in fast-paced, customer-focused environments.

Position Overview

The L&D Specialist will lead the design and development of impactful learning programs that align with business goals and support employee development across our multistate organization. Working closely with organizational leadership, subject matter experts (SMEs), and HR partners, you will identify learning needs and build targeted solutions that drive performance and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding, compliance, leadership development, role-specific training and succession planning efforts.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments to identify skills and knowledge gaps and develop programming to address department and Company needs.  Monitor trends in similar industries and across our established network of sales and service centers, and incorporate best practices.
  • Partner with department leaders to assess performance, skills, behaviors and learning agility to identify high potential employees who excel in their current roles and possess the potential, ambition and drive to take on increased responsibility.
  • Create and execute programs to advance team member development at all levels to have direct impact on organizational performance and initiatives.
  • Create tailored development plans and career paths for high potential employees with the necessary skills and competencies for future roles. 
  • Foster a culture of learning and facilitate knowledge sharing
  • Partner with internal leaders, department managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and/or support creation of compelling learning content, using instructional design best practices, to support business needs, using a format that is most appropriate for the audience and learning objectives. 
  • Create learning content and materials including documents, LWI’s, job aids, infographics, process documentation, evaluation tools, presentations, participant and coach guides. 
  • Facilitate training directly via virtual instruction, in-person instruction, eLearnings or other effective methods, or when appropriate, identify and contract with appropriate external partners, SME’s or consultants who can help us deliver training that aligns with corporate vision and goals.
  • Develop and deliver L&D programs including but not limited to, Leadership Development, New and Ongoing Supervisor Training, Sales Skills Development, Customer Service Skills, IT Training
  • Maintain accurate training records, track compliance with industry, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of company-wide initiatives that will require training and development of team members.  Regularly seek out opportunities across teams to develop team members.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness using assessments, feedback, and key performance metrics
  • Manage, maintain content and maximize effectiveness of the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Stay current with trends and technologies in L&D to bring innovation to our learning strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate learning and development, with a strong focus on employee development, preferably in a sales or customer service environment
  • Demonstrated understanding or education in organizational change management, organizational development, leadership development.
  • Proficient in training and e-learning tools (e.g., MS Suite, Articulate Storyline, Adobe, Camtasia or similar)
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and various training methodologies
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (ADP, PureSafety, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform training needs analysis, project lead, partner with internal SME’s and internal leaders. 
  • Experience with professional coaching, leadership development programs, adult learning or similar.  
  • Program/project management of multiple initiatives, with demonstrated ability to create accurate work plans, keep multiple projects on track, prioritize and deliver results. 
  • Consultative skillset: demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence multiple stakeholders, SME’s and senior leaders. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills.  Orientation to detail and ability to balance priorities.
  • Ability to effectively deliver course material in a way that will be understood and interesting, with audience specificity in mind.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess training impact and effectiveness
  • Comfortable working across distributed teams in a multistate organization
  • Such other knowledge skills and abilities as are necessary in connection with additionally assigned duties. 
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification highly regarded.
  • This role is full-time and requires onsite presence in our Lawrence, MA facility 4 days per week, with occasional planned travel.
