Billing Specialist

100% Remote

Elara Caring is looking for a Billing Specialist to join our team of healthcare professionals and make a difference—one patient at a time.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM CT
• Pay Range: $21.00 – $23.50/hour

The Billing Specialist is directly responsible for collecting agency revenue for assigned programs. This role involves billing payors for claims, ensuring payments are received and applied accurately, and managing corrections or resubmissions as needed. The Billing Specialist also tracks billing trends, supports staff training, and prepares reports to monitor account receivables and rejections.

Key Responsibilities

Billing Operations (70%)

• Prepare, send, and track billing to payors (TMHP, private payors, etc.)
• Balance billing according to patient care plans
• Post payments and reconcile accounts receivable
• Resolve denied/returned claims with corrections and resubmissions
• Communicate directly with payors to ensure reimbursement

Administrative Support (30%)

• Maintain accounts receivable aging and rejection reports
• Stay current on payor billing guidelines
• Assist in training billing personnel
• Provide regular updates to Director of Reimbursement on trends and status reports
• Support professionalism in all payor interactions

What You’Ll Bring

• Associate Degree Preferred

• 5+ years billing experience (home health or clinical setting preferred)

• Positive, Team-Oriented Attitude

• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Dedication to accuracy and quality
• 2+ years Home Health Claims Collections
• 2+ years experience with HCHB
• 2+ years MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel)
