Position Summary
The Press Die Maintenance Team Member is responsible for daily preventative maintenance and breakdown repair of press die assemblies and components.
Position Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
- Inspect dies regularly for defects, wear and damage
- Perform preventative maintenance on dies to ensure smooth operation
- Repair or replace defective or worn out die parts
- Adjust and calibrate machinery and dies according to specification
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, including grinders, lathes, and milling machines
- Follow safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Document maintenance and repair work for future reference and reporting
- Troubleshoot and resolve die-related problems in a timely manner
- Work closely with production teams to ensure dies are ready and properly installed for production runs
- Recommend improvements to extend the lifespan of dies and enhance production efficiency
- Order and manager inventory of die parts and tools
Required Skills and Abilities
Essential Skills And Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience related to die maintenance or in a skilled assembly role
- Clear and concise spoken and written communication skills – strong active listener
- Self-motivated, self-directed with excellent time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with continual critical thinking ability
- Must be highly organized, able to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Must be able to prioritize work based on department conditions and respond with urgency
- Strong comfort with computers including demonstratable experience with excel
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Strong data analysis skills and ability to solve problems, identify patterns, and report relevant data to manager
Education/Training/Certifications
- Minimal high school diploma; Completed Associates in an affiliated field is preferred
