About The Position
FUJIFILM Lifescience Biotechnologies is a world leading Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) serving customers in the pharmaceutical industry – from pre-clinical investigations to commercial GMP production.
To support the many new costumers and technology transfer programs, we are looking for a team lead /supervisor for our laboratory technician team, which plays a key role in the implementation of multiple chemistry methods to support our technology transfer programs between our customers and FUJIFILM Lifescience Biotechnologies.
We work in a high paced and dynamic environment where we support the biologics Drug Substance (DS) production by implementation of methods like UV, SoloVPE, SDS-PAGE, icIEF, CE-SDS, as well as U/HPLC-based methods as SEC, CEX, RP, PS80, Glycan, Titer and PepMap.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 11 laboratory technicians: supervise daily laboratory activities/operations, ensure a well-functioning laboratory as well as timely and efficient execution of experimental work and documentation according to internal procedures and quality standards (cGMP compliance)
- Ensure regular follow-ups and an effective resource allocation, provide technical guidance, and monitor and balance workload
- Develop both the team and individual employees with a coaching and encouraging approach, including conducting regular 1:1s and performance dialogs, as well as providing regular feedback
- Plan and prioritise daily tasks in close collaboration with the project planners and the QC Analytical Development manager
- Responsible for training and safety of all employees in the team and proactively keep an eye out for safety issues (according to our safety-first culture)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows and lab processes to optimising and preparing our processes for the future
- Foster a collaborative work environment in line with Fujifilm’s values
Qualifications
We value teamwork and a can-do attitude and are looking for a new colleague with:
- A scientific or technical background such as a laboratory technician, bioanalyst, or BSc/MSc, along with a minimum of 10 years of laboratory experience in the life science or pharmaceutical industries.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC and electrophoretic techniques used in biopharmaceutical analyses.
- Experience in leading or coordinating teams, formally or informally, combined with strong coordination and organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively in dynamic settings
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, inspire, motivate and develop others
- A collaborative, respectful and transparent leadership style, where you put people first and promote trust and take ownership
- Experience with planning lab work across multiple projects or stakeholders is an advantage
- Comfortable working in English, both written and spoken

The QC Analytical Development department
Our Quality Control (QC) department at site Hillerød consists of approximately 260 employees divided into Analytical Development (AD), different support teams, and several testing teams. The QC Analytical Development department is divided into 4 teams – 2 Chemistry teams, a Bioassay team, and a Project Manager team.
You will be part of one of the Chemistry teams which consists of 10 scientists and a team of 11 laboratory technicians, the latter you will be managing. The primary focus of the Chemistry team is to ensure timely transfer and implementation of new analytical test methods from our customers, to be used for release testing. We interact with many different stakeholders – both internally from QC testing teams and DS & DP production, as well as external stakeholders such as contract laboratory organizations, so good communication and collaborative skills are a necessity.
