Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned GCP Data Engineering Architect to lead and architect end-to-end data migration solutions from traditional SQL databases to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud-native data services, data modeling, and migration strategies, with a strong background in enterprise-scale data engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Architecture:
- Design scalable and secure data migration architectures from SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL to GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Dataproc.
- Define migration strategy including assessment, planning, tooling, and execution.
- Technical Leadership:
- Lead technical teams in implementing data pipelines using GCP-native tools (Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, etc.).
- Provide guidance on best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and application teams to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Present solution designs and migration roadmaps to senior leadership.
- Governance & Security:
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards.
- Implement access controls, encryption, and audit mechanisms.
- Performance Optimization:
- Optimize data pipelines and storage for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and cloud resources.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 12–15 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3–5 years in cloud architecture (preferably GCP).
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python/Java/Scala for data processing.
- Experience with data migration tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Beam, Talend, Informatica, Google Transfer Service).
- Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Terraform, and DevOps practices in cloud environments.
- GCP Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.
- Exposure to machine learning pipelines and analytics on GCP.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
