About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Underground Trades Assistant to join our team out of our Tullamarine depot.

In this hands-on role, you’ll support underground cable installation and maintenance works, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of essential network services across the region.

The role will require travel to north-western suburbs of Melbourne, and you will be working a 9 day a fortnight.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting Lineworkers
  • Excavation for underground and overhead works
  • Minor ancillary works as required
  • Study and interpret technical drawings, network line diagrams & maps
  • Undertake maintenance inspections in accordance with Client/Company Policies, Quality Systems and HSE procedures as well as statutory requirements

About You

The successful applicant will require experience laying cable and operating an Excavator within the maintenance or construction environment, work well in a team and value safety above all.

  • Excavator ticket (highly desirable)
  • Lay Power Cables certificate (highly desirable)
  • Current Australian Driver Licence (HR+ desirable)
  • OHS Construction Induction Card (White/Blue/Red)
  • High Risk Work Licence – Hiab/Crane (highly desirable)
