We are looking for an Associate Director- Speciality BU leader for our Portuguese affiliate.
Purpose of Position: Accountable for leading Speciality (neurology, oncology and biomedicines) Business Unit to maximize growth of this business Portugal. Deliver meaningful customer experiences to drive impact to patients. Develop, coach, and manage the team, including direct management of sales managers and brand managers. Work cross-functionally with other functions. Reports to the General Manager, Portugal.

- Understands the hospital Portuguese landscape, to develop and execute clear and simple marketing strategy and operational plans and maximize patient impact.
- Demonstrates external orientation, leverages best practices and opportunities from across the industry; visits customers to gain insights on local needs to fuel fast learning loops.
- Leads team in customer council and business plan processes, identifying and prioritizing trade-offs to maximize impact to patients in in Portugal.
- Accountable to develop actionable insights through strong and effective measurement.
- Drive easy customer interactions that enable people to feel genuinely cared for and able to trust us to deliver improved outcomes for people living with SPECIALITY diseases in Portugal.
Results
- Accountable for the P&L of the Specialty business unit with a key focus on improving revenue for growth products and optimizing OPEX within the business unit.
- Accountable for the commercialization and growth of SPECIALITY products, including launch preparation for those in pipeline, with an intense focus on driving growth for the focus brands in Portugal.
- Ensure optimal spend of OPEX, control spend within budget targets, develop business cases when buy up/downs are needed and provide periodic OPEX forecasts.
- Develops and implements measurement plans to drive execution excellence and develops actionable insights from those plans.
- Devises acceleration or course corrections as needed to achieve / exceed planned results.
- Identifies best practices for replication and sharing across the affiliate.
- Strives for excellence in not only the results but also how the results are achieved; seeks innovative approaches and continual improvement in delivering results.
Position Requirements:
- A degree in business administration or scientific studies; Master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Science an advantage
- At least 5 years of Marketing, Sales leadership or relevant pharmaceutical experience.
- Experience launching hospital products.
- Proven leadership experience, formal or informal
- Experience in working with and leading cross functional teams
- Ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment
- Strong organizational skills and a willingness to get into details and drive clarity
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Ideally experience in neurology and/or oncology and biomedicines.
- Ideally experience leading both marketing and sales teams.
- Ideally experience in PRA jobs.
