Responsibilities Statement
Eli Lilly Canada is seeking a visionary and consumer-driven Marketing Leader to lead our Obesity portfolio. This role is central to shaping and executing a bold, integrated brand strategy that aligns internal teams and delivers a seamless, high-impact experience for customers and consumers alike.
You will serve as a strategic leader, driving cross-functional collaboration across medical, digital, B2B, communications, and consumer engagement teams to ensure all efforts are seamlessly integrated into a unified brand strategy that accelerates portfolio growth and market leadership. With full ownership of commercialization, you will harness innovation, telehealth platforms, and PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) media strategies to activate and engage a diverse consumer base. You will inspire Brand Managers and the National Engagement Advisor to challenge convention, lead with purpose, and deliver bold, differentiated outcomes. Central to your role is the coaching and development of a highly engaged, high-performing marketing team—cultivating a culture of excellence, experimentation, and continuous growth. Your leadership will be instrumental in embedding a consumer-first mindset, aligning internal teams around core priorities, and delivering a seamless, impactful brand experience in a rapidly evolving obesity landscape.
Role Responsibilities
1. Marketing Team Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Own the customer planning and operational plan processes, ensuring strategic clarity and flawless execution
- Coach and develop Brand Managers and the National Engagement Advisor for Obesity, cultivating a highly engaged, talented marketing team focused on excellence, innovation, and growth
- Foster a high-performance culture through active engagement, recognition, and continuous development
- Oversee campaign execution and omnichannel engagement strategies to deliver a differentiated, seamless brand experience across touchpoints
·Manage The Marketing Brand Budget For The Obesity Portfolio
- Ensure customer plans are executed with precision, impact, and measurable outcomes
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the affiliate, embedding inclusive practices into team culture and consumer engagement
- Ensure compliance and accountability across all marketing activities, maintaining the highest standards of integrity
- Challenge internal processes to improve efficiency, responsiveness, and consumer-centricity
2. Strategic Business Leadership Within Cmh
- Shape and execute strategic planning, forecasting, and business unit planning to drive portfolio growth and market leadership
- Serve as a key member of the CMH leadership team and contribute to the P&L of the Obesity business
- Represent CMH in CMO governance committee
- Actively coordinate and partner with the Diabetes/CV Marketing Lead to ensure full alignment, synergy, and integration of strategies—delivering a unified, seamless, and impactful CMH operational plan across therapeutic areas.
3. Cross-Functional Leadership To Drive A One-Team Mindset And Collaboration
- Collaborate with all teams to design and implement integrated cross-functional strategies—including PRA, PSP, digital, B2B, communications, medical, sales etc. —anchored in customer needs and business priorities
- Maximize PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) media efforts within the core strategy to amplify reach and impact
- Ensure Thought Leader engagement plans are in place and executed with excellence to build trusted partnerships and drive advocacy
- Champion innovation, agility, and bold thinking to drive a consumer-first approach and unlock new opportunities
- Lead all pre-commercialization and launch readiness activities for new obesity assets, ensuring market preparedness and internal alignment
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree; graduate degree in science and/or business preferred
- Extensive experience in consumer health, digital, or non-healthcare marketing
- Proven leadership in brand management, sales, and cross-functional collaboration
- Deep expertise in consumer marketing, media, digital engagement, and/or telehealth platforms
- Demonstrated success in product launches and commercialization
- Exceptional coaching and people development skills
- Strategic thinker with creativity in problem solving and customer engagement
- Excellent communication skills in English; French preferred
