Confluence Water, a Downer, Ventia and Jacobs Joint Venture, is one of three regional consortia delivering design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services for Sydney Water. As the North Delivery team, we stretch from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River, including the Hills Shire. Confluence Water is Sydney Water's partner responsible for the delivery of an unprecedented pipeline of capital works as part of a 10-year program.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Administrator – Subcontracts to join our team at Confluence Water. In this role you will deliver procurement support as a key part of the Confluence Water procurement function through the execution and management of third-party agreements in accordance with Confluence Water policies, procedures and the procurement obligations of the Head Contract.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Procurement Lead and Procurement Manager in the commercial onboarding and engagement of subcontractors and suppliers that are required to have a written agreement in place with Confluence Water.
- Ensure each agreement meets Confluence Water commercial and risk management objectives, complies with contractual requirements, and is finalised in a timely manner.
- Negotiate changes to new agreements, in conjunction with the Procurement Lead and Procurement Manager, based on Confluence Water terms or existing agreements.
- Manage the subcontracts/agreements database to identify when existing agreements are to expire and seek instructions on any extensions or new agreements in advance of expiration.
- Assist in managing all subcontract Early Warning Notices & Compensation Events during Stage 1.
- Re-engage with subcontractors/suppliers regarding renewals or new agreements at the direction of the Procurement Lead and Procurement Manager.
- Ensure compliance with the Confluence Water internal approvals and governance processes in the execution of agreements.
- Support the Commercial Contracts Manager in managing subcontracts issued in response to the Work Orders released under the Head Contract.
- Improve practices and processes continuously through innovative ideas.
- Build strong working relationships with the Development, Estimating, and Delivery Teams.
What You Will Bring
You will bring excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret contract terms and conditions, and exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Tertiary qualification in Construction and or Business or related field.
- Contract administration or legal experience within a commercial organisation.
- Proven ability to perform and deliver results in a dynamic contracting service orientated environment.
- Previous experience working in the engineering and construction industry as a Contracts Administrator or Commercial/Legal role.
