The Sr. Manager, Payroll and HR Operations, performs the critical role of leading and optimizing the operational aspects of the payroll function. Responsibilities include managing a team, ensuring accuracy within the processes, meeting deadlines, working with business stakeholders, implementing process change and guiding overall policy. In this role, you will also be asked to support the business by driving efficiencies and maintaining compliance across the operating units.
This position will serve our Enterprise division based in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid).
- Develop and implement company-wide HR Operations and Payroll strategies that align with overall business goals.
- Lead and manage end-to-end payroll operations for multi-state payroll and multi-employer organization for different pay period schedules, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient processing.
- Manage payroll cycles, including regular payroll, off-cycle payroll, bonuses, and corrections.
- Maintain and monitor payroll data integrity, including employee compensation, tax deductions, and benefits.
- Initiate and collaborate with business leaders to define and develop future state operational changes.
- Leads in cross-functional projects, including mergers, acquisitions, and system migrations, to ensure payroll requirements are met.
- Influence outside groups as it relates to HR Operations and payroll process and procedures to drive organizational consistency and standardization
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies. · Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations, including FLSA, tax withholding, and wage garnishment.
- Mitigate risks associated with HR operations through effective controls and governance practices.
- Monitor key HR Operations and Payroll metrics to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
- Use detailed analysis and process understanding to implement process enhancements designed to maximize resource productivity and operational metrics.
- Be the organization’s resource for knowledge and expertise in payroll and withholding taxes.
- Manage and ensure accuracy with new employee conversions.
- Address employee queries related to HR Operations and Payroll.
- Prepare reports on employee cost, tax withholding, and filings, including W-2s, tax payments, and audit requests.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax laws, benefits, and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the HR Operations & Payroll Team and
Operations Business Partners
- Set objectives for the HR Operations and Payroll team and track progress toward achieving them.
- Conduct performance reviews and evaluations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 10+ years' experience in HR operations and/or HR Shared Services
- Experience working in a strategic, collaborative, and consultative HR operating model
- Strong knowledge of HR functions, including payroll, recruitment, benefits, training, and employee relations.
- Experience managing a team.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, technology solutions, and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in process optimization, change management, and project management.
- Proven experience with HR technology systems (HRIS), and data analytics tools.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Familiarity with labor laws and disciplinary procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
