The Senior Manager, GNU Governance will be responsible for the governance over Government Notices Unit’s (GNU) processing and responding to notice requests, and ensuring compliance, in line with financial crime regulations, privacy laws, and organisational policies.
The role requires collaboration with legal, risk, compliance, and senior leadership to ensure that responses are timely, accurate, and aligned with applicable regulations and policies. The Senior Manager, GNU Governance will also drive continuous improvement efforts, provide strategic guidance on managing legal notices, and oversee the training and development of the team. The role will support the Executive Manager, Government Notices Unit with integrating the strategic direction of the team and FCS into the operational functions of GNU.
You’ll develop and maintain a robust governance framework, ensuring alignment with AML, KYC, and privacy regulations, and supporting daily operations. This role also involves close collaboration with Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams, integration with broader financial crime functions, and oversight of documentation and audit trails to meet regulatory expectations.
What do I need?
- Extensive experience in responding to government or regulatory inquiries and managing relationships with law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated experience in building, maintaining and reviewing governance frameworks and functions.
- Demonstrated experience in financial crime compliance, regulatory operations, or related fields, with significant experience in a managerial role overseeing the handling of legal notices.
- Strong understanding of relevant financial crime regulations, privacy laws, and legal compliance frameworks (e.g., AML, KYC, GDPR, CCPA).
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- A background in law would be highly desirable
