Strategic Context:
Currently, Sanofi has the most robust pipeline and forthcoming product launches in the company’s history. As the next phase of our Play-To-Win strategy, Sanofi must appropriately support this pipeline to materialize our vision of delivering scientific miracles to patients worldwide. Thus, modernizing the Sanofi operational structure is also required. In line with this, project DRIVE is shepherding change throughout the organization and created the development of the Go-to-Market Capabilities (GTMC) team within the company.
The Associate Director, Global Competitive Intelligence (CI), Sanofi Immunology, Respiratory will be responsible for leading CI activities with a focus on Respiratory. This position will provide a high level of competitive intelligence analysis to support these Sanofi businesses. This person will be an integral cross functional partner to the leadership and the commercial teams. Key components of this role will include proactively monitoring and synthesizing the competitive environment, analyzing threats and opportunities, and working with cross functional partners to provide insights to help guide the short- and long-term strategy of Respiratory Indications.
This position will report to the Lead, Insights & Analytics - Global Immunology, Sr. Director and will be based in Barcelona, Spain.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
- To lead competitive intelligence (CI) activities for Respiratory indications within the Immunology portfolio, providing clear, actionable insights that guide business strategy and decision-making.
- Lead competitive intelligence (CI) activities for Respiratory indications within the Immunology portfolio.
- Monitor and analyze competitor strategies, pipelines, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights to support brand and portfolio decisions.
- Manage CI deliverables, including reports, briefings, and early warning alerts.
- Lead congress intelligence activities and summarize key findings for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with commercial, insights, and forecasting teams to align intelligence priorities.
- Manage and guide external vendors to ensure high-quality and compliant CI outputs.
- Partner with global and regional teams to support strategic planning and business decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of CI tools, processes, and best practices.
About You
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and/or consulting focused on competitive intelligence; experience in Immunology and product launches strongly preferred; experience in leadership or cross-functional global roles desirable.
- Soft skills: Strong stakeholder management; effective communication and influencing skills; ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights; high learning agility; and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a matrixed environment.
- Technical skills: Expertise in competitive intelligence, market analysis, and strategic insight generation; familiarity with biopharma commercialization, R&D, and lifecycle management; experience managing external vendors and congress intelligence processes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MD, PhD) preferred.
- Languages: Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
