The Senior Legal Manager is tasked with overseeing the Litigation & Commercial Advisory Team to ensure effective legal support across multiple functions. The team’s activities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing all aspects of litigation processes.
- Overseeing garnishment, freeze, and seizure actions, including CBE freeze orders, court cases, and administrative garnishments from tax, social security, and customs authorities.
- Addressing legal inquiries related to MGN Egypt, including contract drafting, legal opinions, and litigation management.
- Handling mortgage-related legal matters, including disputes and compliance.
- Conducting investigations pertinent to legal compliance and risk mitigation.
- Participating in and developing action plans for relevant committees.
- Responding to PICG inquiries and drafting related contracts.
- Managing third-party agreements, including vendor and lease contracts.
- Overseeing notary public functions for powers of attorney, property registration, and mortgage procedures.
- Regular review and update of policies and procedures within the legal scope.
The role encompasses the following core responsibilities:
- Litigation Management: Oversee litigation strategies, case management, and external counsel performance, maintaining a comprehensive case database.
- Garnishment, Freeze, and Seizure (GRU): Develop and implement procedures ensuring compliance and timely response to legal actions.
- Legal Inquiries (MGN Egypt): Streamline inquiry processes, ensure legal compliance, and manage litigation and contract drafting.
- Mortgage Legal Matters: Manage mortgage-related legal issues, ensuring adherence to laws and minimizing risks.
- Investigations: Conduct investigations for compliance and risk management, providing reports and recommendations.
- Committee Participation: Contribute legal expertise and develop action plans from committee discussions.
- PICG Inquiries & Contract Drafting: Address inquiries and draft/review contracts to ensure clarity and legal compliance.
- Third-Party Agreements: Oversee drafting and review processes, establishing standardized procedures.
- Notary Public Functions: Manage notary processes for POAs and property/mortgage documentation.
- Policy and Procedure Review: Continuously update policies to align with legal and regulatory developments.
Candidates Should Possess:
- A Bachelor of Law degree with registration at the Egyptian Bar Association.
- Over 15 years of legal management and advisory experience, preferably within banking or financial institutions.
- Expertise in Egyptian labor law, banking regulations, contractual law, corporate finance, and real estate.
- Strong negotiation, dispute resolution, and legal drafting skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and make informed decisions.
