General Description
Our mission at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is to serve, protect and advance the citizens and industries in the state with quality motor vehicle related services. We are a dynamic state agency dedicated to customer service, consumer protection and the success of motor vehicle-related industries.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive SharePoint Administrator with experience in Box content management and Box MCP Server to join our IT team. This role will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of our SharePoint environment, while also managing secure content workflows and integrations involving Box and Box MCP Server. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collaboration platforms, data governance, and enterprise content security. The Administrator will oversee daily operations, implement best practices, support integrations with enterprise applications, and provide advanced user support and training. The role requires balancing technical administration with business needs to improve collaboration, streamline workflows, and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Performs advanced (senior-level) programming work in support of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Information Technology Services Division. Work involves designing, developing, and maintaining software applications, ensuring system security, optimizing software for efficiency and accessibility, and integrating modern and AI-driven technologies.
Guide other team members. Will supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Duties
- 1. Administers and maintains SharePoint environments, including site collections, document libraries, lists, permissions, workflows, and metadata structures.
- 2. Manages Box platform administration, including user provisioning, group assignments, folder permissions, and governance features.
- 3. Implements and enforces security and compliance policies for both SharePoint and Box, including data retention, auditing, and access control.
- 4. Provides Tier-2/3 support for end-users, troubleshooting issues related to access, synchronization, integrations, and file management.
- 5. Coordinates with IT security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to organizational policies and industry standards.
- 6. Supports integrations between SharePoint, Box, and enterprise applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Teams, Okta, Azure AD).
- 7. Assists in planning and executing migrations of content between platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to governance requirements.
- 8. Develops and maintains documentation, user guides, and training materials to support end-user adoption and platform best practices.
- 9. Monitors system usage, storage capacity, and license allocations to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
- 10. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend solutions, and configure features to improve collaboration and information management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and CERTIFICATIONS
Technical Knowledge
- 1. Administration and configuration of Microsoft SharePoint Online (site collections, libraries, permissions, workflows, metadata) and Box (user provisioning, folder structures, governance features).
- 2. Role-based access control, group/permission management, and integration with Azure Active Directory, Okta, or other SSO solutions.
- 3. Data retention policies, records management, audit logging, eDiscovery, and DLP implementation.
- 4. Experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Apps) and Box integrations via APIs and connectors.
- 5. Understanding of information security best practices, encryption, access auditing, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, FedRAMP).
- 6. General knowledge of SaaS-based enterprise platforms, cloud storage capacity management, and monitoring system performance.
- 7. Development of training materials, documentation, and user adoption strategies to support collaboration platforms.
- 8. Diagnostic and problem-solving skills for sync errors, permission conflicts, and cross-platform integration issues.
- 10. Familiarity with content lifecycle management and data retention policies.

Education And Experience
- 1. Bachelor's or greater degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2. 3+ years of experience administering SharePoint (Online and/or Server).
- 3. 2+ years of experience working with Box, including Box MCP Server.
- 4. Experience with Power Automate, PowerShell, and other automation tools.
Preferred Certifications
- Experience with SharePoint migrations (e.g., ShareGate, Metalogix).
- Knowledge of Box APIs and Box MCP Server configuration.
- Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate or Box Certified Professional.

Registration, Certification And/Or Licensure
