The Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) is the state agency that helps injured employees with their Texas workers’ compensation claims. The agency assists, educates, and advocates on their behalf. OIEC provides services in 20 offices across the state. Agency services include advocacy, customer service, and dispute assistance through OIEC’s Ombudsman Program.
Office Intern, paid, part-time – Austin
As the Office Intern, you will assist the Office of Injured Employee Counsel with day-to-day administrative tasks and provide support related to the agency’s programs and operations. We are looking for a current or recent, undergraduate college student who is self-motivated, shows initiative to learn new tasks and take on projects. You must have the ability to problem solve, multi-task, and adapt to new responsibilities.
This is a three-month internship and an in-office position.
You will be paid once a month on the first working day of the month and work 20 hours/week. There may be an opportunity to work more than 20 hours/week for additional compensation!
This Position:
- provides administrative support to the Human Resources department
- assists in talent acquisition process
Qualifications
- graduation from high school or equivalent; and
- one-year full-time work experience.
Education may be substituted for work experience.
Additionally, preferences for this job are:
- undergraduate, college hours within last two years or recent undergraduate degree within last two years
- bilingual in English and Spanish language skills (oral)
Prior Internship Experience

Employment Preferences
Former Foster Youth Preference
