Position Summary
Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York.
Work You’ll Do
Assist clients to balance compliance details and long-term tax strategies as well as understand national and international tax structures and align tax functions with business objectives. Provide day-to-day client service relationships and serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that can help improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client’s overall tax risk profile. Work closely with clients and other members of the team to understand each organization’s global goals and strategies and how industry and economic trends affect the business. Provide compliance and consulting services to clients and assist with various tax consulting projects, including planning and executing projects related to information reporting. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates and coordinate with clients' tax and business operations on tax planning and compliance data gathering. Participate in complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, research and analyze a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and the tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates, and research tax legislation to assist in understanding the impact on compliance and consulting. Perform a detailed technical review of compliance-related work including federal withholding tax returns and review all related workpapers in project execution process. Assist with engagement workflow management and mentor tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
Requirements
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen (18) months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.
Experience must include 18 months of:
- analyzing clients' systems to identify gaps and provide solutions in information gathering and other processes necessary for reporting under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standards (CRS);
- providing consulting services on FATCA and CRS for clients across various jurisdictions, including providing guidance on the law, rules, and regulations, designing tax operating models including current state and future state analyses, and assisting clients with FATCA and CRS reporting;
- monitoring FATCA and CRS regulations to identify changes issued by global jurisdictions, and assisting clients with new reporting requirements;
- utilizing tax software, including 1099 Pro, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to clients, and utilizing LexisNexis, Bloomberg, and TaxNotes to research and solve complex tax issues;
- performing withholding tax computation and preparing and filing federal Forms 1042, 1042-S, and 1099;
- validating tax forms W-9, W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, W-8EXP, W-8IMY, W-8ECI, and CRS certification forms;
- mentoring and coaching junior team members; and
- performing entity classification, registration, and reporting on non-U.S. jurisdictional portals, and performing detailed technical review and form validation of IRS tax forms, CRS self-certifications, and related sub-documentation.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
Annual Salary: $81,620.00 - $151,580.00.
