Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Business Development Executive (East Malaysia) is responsible for managing and developing business growth across Sabah, Sarawak, and Brunei, covering both direct accounts and distributor/wholesaler channels. The role is based in Tawau, Sabah, and plays a critical part in expanding market presence, strengthening trade relationships, and driving volume growth across all product categories under FGV Delima Oil Products (SAJI, SERI PELANGI, & ADELA).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Growth
- Achieve monthly and yearly sales targets (MT & CTN) for all assigned territories in East Malaysia.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies to expand distribution and improve market share.
- Identify business opportunities with modern trade, wholesalers, and distributors to optimize coverage and sales performance.
- Support execution of trade marketing programs and Saji branding activities across key accounts and high-potential outlets.
2. Account & Channel Management
- Manage all direct accounts, distributors, and wholesalers in Sabah, Sarawak, and Brunei.
- Build strong customer relationships to ensure long-term business partnerships and loyalty.
- Monitor distributor performance and ensure compliance with agreed sales targets, pricing, and distribution standards.
- Conduct periodic business reviews with major trade partners to identify gaps and growth opportunities.
3. Trade Execution & Merchandising
- Collaborate with Merchandisers to ensure effective in-store visibility, planogram compliance, and stock freshness.
- Execute promotional programs, mailers, and display activities to support brand visibility and sales conversion.
- Track and report on competitor pricing, promotions, and market trends for management insights.
4. Reporting & Market Insights
- Submit accurate and timely reports on sales performance, outlet coverage, and market activities.
- Analyze sales trends to recommend tactical plans for improvement.
- Coordinate with the Central Sales Office for order processing, delivery tracking, and stock management.
5. Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with internal departments (Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, HR) to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Support national initiatives such as festive promotions (Raya, CNY, Gawai) and product launch campaigns.
- Participate in periodic business reviews with the Sales Manager and management team.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in FMCG sales or distribution management, preferably in East Malaysia.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, independent, and willing to travel extensively within Sabah, Sarawak, and Brunei.
- Possess own transport and a valid driving license.
