As a Payroll Analyst you will be responsible for ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all payroll calculations, garnishments, tax deductions and other deductions are being met.

- Ensures all tasks are completed for each on-cycle payroll area and reviews payroll to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinates the work of other team members in the preparation and processing of Payroll.
- Processes off-cycle checks and other special check processing.
- Reviews the processing of the individual off-cycle checks, including termination processing, ensuring compliance, authorization and supporting documentation.
- Ensures computation of pay according to company policy, government regulations and knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
- Ensures payroll related training efforts are met by making sure all individuals are properly trained.
- Answers, screens, and directs telephone calls, creating a positive impression with callers.
- Prepares reports and presentations.
- Conducts research and compiles statistical reports.
- Organizes and maintains file system, and files records of a confidential nature.
- Greets visitors and directs them to the appropriate area or person.
- Provides guidance to management and employees on HR-related concerns, coordinates with other departments as needed, and refers complex issues to higher levels.
- Reviews data and assists with communicating recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Initiates and completes processing of all duties involved in employment, termination, transfer, and promotion of personnel.
- Designs and runs monthly reports.
- Performs data entry into SAP and sends related documents to FileNet.
- Orders and maintains supplies and arranges for equipment maintenance.
- Coordinates the administration of employee benefits programs and answers participant benefit questions and resolves routine issues related to their benefits.
- Prepares and communicates information to participants concerning benefit programs, procedures, and changes and ensures compliance.
- Assists with special projects and functions of the department.
- Assists HR/Support staff as needed.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Memphis Refinery, required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in the following area(s):
- Experience working with multiple payroll cycles running simultaneously in a multi-state corporation required.
- Experience working with multiple payroll cycles running simultaneously in a multi-state corporation required.
Preferred Requirements:
- SAP payroll system experience preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
