Job Summary:

The Software Product Manager delivers meaningful product solutions and customer experiences that improve patient outcomes, drive business value, and increase efficiency. This role defines and manages product strategy, vision, and roadmaps through design thinking, market analysis, customer research, and business case development. The Software Product Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into prioritized features, capture feedback, and drive continuous value delivery. They also ensure product solutions align with organizational strategy, regulatory standards, security requirements, and evolving customer needs.  

Essential/Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for creating, managing, and prioritizing the Epic and Feature backlog for multiple agile software delivery teams—from ideation and business case development through product realization—by defining benefit hypotheses, identifying value metrics, and reviewing and accepting completed work.
  • Creates, maintains, and communicates the product strategy, vision, and portfolio roadmap – providing visibility to future product concepts and technology needs while aligning , and program backlogs to software delivery teams, senior leadership, and executive management
  • Leads all forms of customer research—qualitative, quantitative, and immersive—to confirm customer value and inform product decisions, engaging directly with customers in clinical settings and shaping customer experience strategies to ensure customer-centric product solutions.
  • Leverages customer research and insights to identify market needs and opportunities, gathering and evaluating ideas from customers, trade shows, competition, channel partners, key opinion leaders, and teammates to inform the product portfolio.
  • Develops and maintains the economic and financial models, partnering with finance to assess new projects and ensure solution(s) deliver stakeholder value and meet return-on-investment guidelines
  • Owns the voice of the customer and uncovers opportunities for new end-user value, driving product differentiation throughout the development cycle and determining minimally viable features that enable continuous value creation
  • Creates and manages product charters and translates research insights into business cases to ensure initiatives align with organizational goals while recommending new products and services that deliver measurable value.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and other Agile teammates to build the right solutions and prioritize non-user features such as architecture runway and non-functional requirements – while balancing customer needs technical risks, scope, cost and timelines.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams – including industrial design, engineering, software development, user experience to define, validate and deliver concepts that address unmet customer needs. 
  • Captures customer feedback and monitors engagement with software solutions to identify opportunities for continuous value delivery, ensuring enhancements and iterations align with evolving customer needs.
  • Ensures product solutions meet applicable regulatory and compliance standards, including FDA requirements, FedRAMP, and information security protocols—by collaborating with quality, regulatory, and security teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Secondary Duties:

  • Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure Midmark’s technology solutions are well-aligned and prioritized to continuously evolving business, market and customer needs
  • Partners with business and corporate development teams to assess potential partnerships and acquisitions, contributing to due diligence of business opportunities and supporting integration activities. 
  • Fosters a culture of modern software delivery methodologies. Coaches and mentors’ others on modern software delivery practices and Agile principles
  • Creates and maintains process flows, UML diagrams, and defines user acceptance tests

Education And/Or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required, MBA or MS preferred. 3 years of Scrum Master or Product Owner experience. 5 years of related work experience in Agile product development. Related business and requirements management in digital system development and/or project/product management. SAFe product manager certification preferred. First or Second level Scrum Product Owner Certification (PSPO I/II) preferred.

Competency/Skill Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile software delivery principles
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining digital product/software roadmaps and program backlogs
  • Ability to lead, direct and empower teammates without formal management authority
  • Ability to develop and analyze perform financial modelsand quantitative analysis
  • Strong consultative, listening, communication and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience translating business, stakeholder and customer needs and advocacy into products and/or solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present to executive leadership

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May lead and direct the work of other teammates
