Position Description
In this lead role, the incumbent will oversee complex computer systems analysis to support TxDOT’s IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include analyzing user requirements, procedures, and operational challenges to automate workflows or improve existing systems. The position provides strategic oversight and technical guidance for the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of IT projects, programs, and systems. The role also involves managing multiple Tech Lounges (walk-up customer support desks), conference technology support, and field service technician teams. Additionally, the incumbent coordinates information services and technology initiatives that deliver business value while minimizing operational disruptions. This position operates with extensive latitude for independent judgment and initiative and reports directly to the Section Director or Branch Manager.
Essential Duties:
• Serves as a lead worker, providing guidance and oversight across assigned programs.
• Performs operational oversight and drives process improvements for the Tech Lounge, Conference Support, and Field Services Programs.
• Coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT/IS architecture, including processes, policies, standards, procedures, and associated roles and responsibilities.
• Makes recommendations for ITD processes related to hardware and software technology planning, development, and implementation.
• Analyzes new or existing procedures, information systems, and utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitors and collects data to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and performance of existing technologies.
• Monitors changes in hardware and software and communicates updates to end users.
• Troubleshoots and analyzes technical problems associated with hardware and local applications.
• Manages the ticket queue in accordance with Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
• May be accountable for developing, coordinating, or advising on metrics, audits, and root cause investigations.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline. Related experience and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications:
Work Experience - 5 years of experience in systems analysis, application systems support, or related work experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent) Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
License And Certification:
- Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions:
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools

- Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
