General Role
- Hermès Australia is offering an opportunity for a Senior Logistics Manager role, based in Sydney reporting to the Operations Director.
- With a new Distribution Centre project just implemented, this role will be heavily involved in the set-up, management, and ongoing oversight of the new Distribution Centre with large3PL team.
- The Senior Logistics Manager’s main role will be to supervise the secured storage and shipments of the products to / from the stores and customers, to provide a high-quality and efficient service for these activities, respecting the guidelines and values of the company.
- This is a business-critical role, which will be actively contributing to the Company’s overall long-term strategy and objectives. This role will be responsible for providing strategic and dynamic leadership with a focus on continuous improvement to the Supply Chain & Customer Care function.
- The role commands an awareness and a strategic response to external influences, such as legislation, costs and environmental pressures. The role may involve transportation, stock control, warehousing and ensuring structures are in place to monitor the flow of goods and materials.
- The Senior Logistics Manager ensures that supply chain and logistics are key enablers for omni-channel success and development of new services.
Main Missions of the Senior Logistics Manager:
- Manage the logistics team based in the 3PL Distribution Centre to store products and distribute to 5 retail stores and ecommerce fulfillment.
- Manage the 3PL contract, performance and compliance to the brand’s standards and policies.
- Works closely with the retail, retail merchandising, ecommerce & Inventory teams on planning, deliveries, maintaining an open and efficient communication.
- Main point of contact in the Group for Logistics (Group supply chain and logistic teams and vendors logistics).
Erp Project Management:
- Manage ERP (logistics) implementation lifecycle including post-implementation optimization.
- Working with local and regional teams to lead the project in planning the successful execution of tasks on time.
- Guide on technical aspect including integrations and liaise with functional teams (stores, e-commerce, operations, IT) for problem solving.
- Coordinate with Local and Regional IT to ensure a proper integration of the supply chain system and the 3PL Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Logistics Strategy And Planning:
- Responsible for designing and implementing Hermès Australia’s logistics strategy.
- Responsible for Hermès Australia’s logistics and transport budget (planning and invoicing control).
- Establish Shipping flow forecasts (collections, shops, e-com, returns, destocking).
- Logistics reporting.
3pl Management:
- Contract management.
- Monitoring of KPIs and contractual commitments for the animation of the logistics provider.
- Monitoring of improvement action plans.
- Monitoring of ongoing change requests.
- Annual negotiation with the service provider for cost monitoring and definition of continuous improvement objectives.
Supervision Of Warehouse Operations:
- Supervision of logistics management, inbound and outbound flows.
- Partnering with the inventory team to ensure stock accuracy, discrepancy report, cycle count and yearly stock take.
- Supervise e-commerce logistics operations.
Transport And Customs:
- Partnering with inventory team on Contract management with freight forwarders and courier companies.
- Partnering with inventory team to ensure a smooth and efficient importation process of goods with freight forwarders and customs broker.
- Work collaboratively with inventory team and customs broker to ensure smooth process of customs declaration and commodity inspection.
- Understanding and respecting local CITES regulations/processes.
Inbound Flows:
- Coordinate with lab for lab test report before products imported into market when applicable.
- Support other teams for special import flows such as communication events.
- Supervise and coordinate operational activities for all shipments to the local third-party Distribution Center through:
- Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movements and storage of goods through appropriate KPIs.
- Allocating and managing staff resources according to the evolution of the needs.
- Setting clear objectives and measurables, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
- Supervise and coordinate operational activities for all shipments to the local third-party Distribution Center through:
Outbound Flows:
- Monitor the daily run of cross-channel fulfillment options:
- o Daily replenishment of the retail stores
- o Direct e-commerce orders fulfillment with picking, packing and shipping of goods
- o Transfers from store to store
- Liaise and negotiate with the stores, e-store and 3PL to improve the outgoing flows by adapting frequency or defining new shipping methods
- Monitor the daily run of cross-channel fulfillment options:
- o Daily replenishment of the retail stores
- o Direct e-commerce orders fulfillment with picking, packing and shipping of goods
- o Transfers from store to store
- Liaise and negotiate with the stores, e-store and 3PL to improve the outgoing flows by adapting frequency or defining new shipping methods
Claims Management:
- Partnering with inventory team to ensure all delivery claims (quality, overs and under) are processed and monitor follow up.
- Manage communication with Global teams based in Paris and liaise with HAUS teams.

Logistics Project Management:
- Proposal of improvement actions to optimize logistics operations and improve the satisfaction of stores and e- commerce then follow-up of the implementation.
- Management of logistics projects to meet the needs of stores, e-commerce and other vendors.
- Design and set up new processes and any new Value-added services (VAS).
- Lead the logistic stream of the ecommerce set-up project.
Compliance Management:
- Accountable for audit preparation linked to Customs, Financial, IT and Health & Safety related to Logistics.
- Regularly audit the security and safety measures and process adherence to Group policies, local regulations and requirements of Hermès’ Insurance.
- Ensure CSR initiatives are implemented in the Distribution Centre to reduce carbon footprint of our logistic activities.
Team Management:
- Animation of the HAUS logistics and warehouse team.
- Host Regular team meetings and promote discussion.
- Create a sense of team spirit, discipline, and mutual respect, leading everyone towards the same goal.
- Insist on exceptional standards and ensure company guidelines are adhered to.
Profile:
- University graduate with at least 5 years of proven experience in logistics/ operations as a manager.
- Excellent knowledge of import / export transportation, warehouse management and customs clearance.
- Strong operational and compliance focus.
- Organized, flexible and reliable.
- IT Skills: WMS, ERP, Microsoft Office (Excel and Power point).
- Strong analytical / spend management skills to be able to produce accurate, professional, and meaningful reports in a timely manner.
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritise projects and multi-task to meet deadlines and business needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Communicate & coordinate effectively and proficiently with internal stakeholders and 3PL in a manner that achieves a team environment with winning results.
