We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive large-scale network security initiatives across Microsoft. This role is pivotal in advancing network isolation, segmentation, and monitoring capabilities that ensure the resilience, compliance, and security of our cloud infrastructure. As a Senior TPM, you will partner closely with security engineering, networking, and compliance teams to define and drive strategy for end-to-end network security, establish and scale monitoring and detection capabilities to identify and mitigate emerging threats, and align cross-organizational roadmaps to deliver secure-by-design architectures that protect Azure.

Responsibilities

⦁ Lead strategic programs to strengthen Microsoft’s network security posture, including isolation, segmentation, secure network architecture, monitoring, and perimeter hardening across cloud services.

⦁ Drive adoption of zero-trust principles, private networking, secure-by-design network architectures, and service-level isolation patterns.

⦁ Establish and scale network security monitoring and detection capabilities, with the ability to analyze telemetry and threat data to identify trends, risks, and areas for proactive improvement.

⦁ Track and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of program milestones.

⦁ Build and maintain program-level dashboards and KPIs, providing leadership with visibility and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years of experience leading multi-disciplinary programs involving network security and cloud architecture.
  • 2+ years of experience understanding of networking concepts such as Cloud networking/SDN, routing/switching, and network security technologies (Firewall, VPN, private links, ACLs)
  • 2+ years of experience with  network and vulnerability scanning (Nmap, Qualisys, Zap or similar)
  • 1+ year(s) of hands-on experience with data analytics using Kusto, SQL, or similar query languages, with the ability to analyze telemetry and logs

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Deep understanding of network security engineering and architecture
  • Experience with Azure networking and security features (e.g., Azure Firewall, Private Link, Azure Policy).
  • Familiarity with security compliance standards (FedRAMP, NIST, ISO 27001 or similar).
  • Experience working in large-scale, distributed cloud environments.
  • Ability to drive alignment and execution across engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and isolation strategies (e.g., zero trust, segmentation, isolation).

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
