We are looking for a Principal Applied Scientist who can build and inspire a team and drive the delivery of impactful data and AI products.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver results by researching and building innovative AI solutions, ML models, forecasting, anomaly detections and recommendations.
  • Identifies gaps and determines which tools, technologies, and methods to incorporate to ensure quality and scientific rigor.
  • Leads the development and implementation of new or modified tools, technologies, and methods.
  • Build a deep understanding of user behaviors across all products and services.
  • Partner closely with product engineering to productize AI solutions.
  • Brings new technology and approaches into production by applying long-term research efforts to solve immediate product needs.
  • Experience on changes in industry/market trends, products, industry advances, and opportunities in applied technologies across a broad range of applied research areas.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
  • OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
  • OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, data science, or machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python for development and scripting.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in using predictive analysis, statistical computing, experiments, and machine learning in production environment to improve business results.
  • OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
  • OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with multi-agent frameworks such as AutoGen, Semantic Kernal and Langchain.
  • Exposure to Power Platform, Microsoft Graph API, or enterprise integration technologies.
  • Debugging skills and a solid understanding of security and data protection principles.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven partnership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to influence leadership in a cross-functional environment.
  • Communication and storytelling skills, with ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and the OpenAI API.

Applied Sciences IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
