As a Principal Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing engineering team responsible for Azure Confidential Clean Rooms and a new strategic incubation focused on optimizing cloud infrastructure for enterprise AI workloads. You will set vision and direction, foster a culture of technical excellence and inclusion, and partner across organizations to deliver impactful solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a diverse engineering team to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative cloud solutions for confidential data collaboration and AI infrastructure.
• Partner with product, research, and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-impact features across multiple product lines.
• Provide technical leadership in architecture, design, and implementation, ensuring solutions meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
• Drive project planning, execution, and delivery, optimizing for efficiency, quality, and customer value.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and operational excellence.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud, AI, and confidential computing, and apply best practices to drive innovation.
• Represent the team and communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and key partners

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
• OR equivalent experience.

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science 
• OR related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, 
• OR Python 
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
• OR equivalent experience. 
• 6+ years people management experience. 
• 1+ year(s) of experience in driving cross-team collaboration and deliver results in complex, matrixed environments.
• 1+ year(s) of experience with strong communication, organizational, and strategic thinking skills
• OR related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, 
• OR Python 
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
