Software Engineer III- Java

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Wealth Management Alternatives Investment Technology team, you will be a key technical contributor responsible for providing critical solutions to support the firm’s business objectives. You will develop secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others, and identify opportunities to improve operational stability. You will lead evaluation sessions with technology partners to promote architectural designs and foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing critical solutions within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
• Develop secure high-quality production code, reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Lead evaluation sessions with other technology partners teams to drive outcome-oriented architectural designs. 
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Deep knowledge and expertise in Java, Spring Boot and Reactive programming.
• Knowledge of modern architectures based on micro services, REST APIs, NoSQL stores and eventing.
• Building Cloud native applications.
• Knowledge in AWS (or similar cloud platforms)
• Experience working through entire lifecycle of at least 2 large complex application build-out (from scratch) and delivery for either a large financial organization or a top-class technology product team.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps tool chain, software monitoring and a test-driven approach to agile delivery is expected.
• Strong team working skills and the ability to work on multiple parallel work items with other developers, analysts etc.
• Advanced understanding of Applicant Resiliency and Security
• Expertise in technical documentation. (using Swagger)
• Exposure of AI concepts and active user of development assistance tools like Microsoft Copilot.
