Under general supervision, performs general accounting functions for various Lanai Resorts LLC companies. Assists with preparing and maintaining accounting records for multiple subsidiaries and departments, financial statements, and reconciliations. Assists with advising operational personnel or accounting treatment.
Compensation:
$56,000 - $65,000/year (salaried/exempt). This is a temporary position.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to: Controller, Assistant Controller or Director of Finance
Supervises: n/a

Essential Duties
- Reconcile monthly banking activity to transactions of various businesses, including recording ACH debits, wires, bank transfers, credit card transactions and checks.
- Identify and resolve reconciling variances through available resources including bank websites, merchant account portals, point of sale systems, as well as operations mangers.
- Record and post transactions in the general ledgers, reviews reports to ensure the accuracy of transactions and accounts for various Lanai Resorts companies.
- Perform various other general ledger functions for operating units, including analyzing and recording of transaction journal entries.
- Prepare and post any adjusting entries to accounts as necessary.
- Compute and journalize expenses (including allocations). Prepare billings as required.
- Prepare reconciliations for selected balance sheet and Income/Expense accounts as assigned and prepare and post any adjusting entries.
- Communicate with representatives of assigned departments regarding accounting transactions, and advise on proper processing of transactions through accounting systems.
- Assist in receipt of daily mail and inter-office correspondence.
- Prepare audit and tax schedules for as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Preferred 3 years of accounting experience with emphasis in general accounting
- AA Degree in Accounting, preferred but not required
- Experience with NetSuite and Sage Accounting software, preferred but not required
- Experience with job costing and working with multiple entities highly preferred
- Must be proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
- Requires working to established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
- Requires the ability to create effective working relationships with people.
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
- Requires verbal communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have the ability to work independently and to multi-task in a fast paced office environment.
- Must have the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Requires attention to accuracy and detail oriented.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision and color vision.
