As an Associate Director, Retail Media, the successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record of:

  • Building and leading high-performing retail media teams across endemic retail platforms (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.) and retail-focused programmatic activation
  • Deep expertise in retail media advertising including sponsored product listings, display, video, and programmatic capabilities across major retail media networks
  • Strategic thinking around closed-loop attribution, incrementality measurement, and retail media effectiveness
  • Contributing to the development of Croud's retail media practice through thought leadership, new business support, and operational excellence

Responsibilities

People Management

  • Oversee and develop a team of 3-5 retail media specialists, including both endemic platform experts (Amazon Sponsored Ads, Walmart Connect, Roundel Media Studio, etc.) and retail media-focused programmatic specialists
  • Act as a player-coach: willing and capable to be hands-on when needed, but primarily focused on coaching, developing, and elevating team capabilities
  • Manage team towards internal operational targets and profitability metrics
  • Responsible for hiring and onboarding new retail media team members
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the retail media practice

Client Management And Account Strategy

  • Serve as the day-to-day lead, mapped to senior retail media client stakeholders, working in partnership with holistic leadership teams (Client Leads and Account Directors)
  • Develop deep expertise in clients' business objectives, product portfolios, retail partnerships, and e-commerce strategies
  • Lead the development of integrated retail media strategies that span endemic platforms (Amazon Sponsored Ads, Walmart Connect, Roundel, Instacart Ads, etc.) and retail-focused programmatic activation (Amazon DSP, Walmart DSP, Trade Desk retail partnerships)
  • Proactively create and deliver performance forecasts, budget recommendations, and strategic initiatives to meet and exceed client KPIs
  • Collaborate with analytics teams (internal and client) on measurement including incrementality testing, closed-loop attribution, and retail media lift studies, bringing knowledge of partner and platform-specific analytic offerings to the conversation (Amazon Marketing Cloud, Walmart Luminate, etc.)
  • Stay at the forefront of retail media innovation and ensure clients benefit from emerging opportunities across the retail media ecosystem

Operational Management

  • Support team members to ensure flawless campaign execution and operational delivery against client and internal KPIs
  • Lead the development of best practices, processes, and institutional knowledge for retail media activation
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement retail media management platforms and tools (Pacvue, Skai, Stackline, etc.) to enhance team efficiency and client outcomes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Analytics, Strategy, Creative) to deliver comprehensive retail media solutions
  • Oversee a team split between endemic retail platforms and programmatic retail focused media buying

Practice Leadership And Development

  • Play a key role in building and scaling Croud's retail media practice as a strategic differentiator
  • Contribute to new business efforts through prospect account audits, capability presentations, and strategic recommendations
  • Develop thought leadership content including case studies, POVs, and insights that establish Croud's retail media expertise
  • Identify and evaluate emerging retail media platforms, technologies, and partners
  • Collaborate with leadership to define retail media service offerings, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies

Desired Qualifications

  • Clear passion for retail media and the evolving commerce media landscape
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on retail media experience across endemic platforms (Amazon Sponsored Ads, Walmart Connect, Roundel, Instacart Ads, or similar) and/or retail-focused programmatic buying (Amazon DSP, Walmart DSP, Trade Desk retail partnerships)
  • Experience managing both upper-funnel (awareness, consideration) and lower-funnel (conversion, sales) retail media campaigns
  • At least 2 years of direct line management experience, mentoring and training
  • Demonstrated expertise with retail media management platforms (Pacvue, Skai, Stackline, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of retail media measurement including incrementality, closed-loop attribution, and platform-specific analytics capabilities
  • Familiarity with e-commerce strategy and retail partnerships (bonus, but not required)
  • Experience contributing to new business pitches and practice development initiatives
  • Ability to translate complex retail media concepts into clear, strategic narratives for clients and stakeholders
  • Mathematical and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Proven experience managing client expectations and building trusted advisor relationships

Standard hours are from 9.00am to 5.30pm, there’s flexibility if agreed in advance with your line managers (it may also be necessary on occasions to work outside of these hours).
