Paint Materials Technical Specialist

Drive, lead, Mentor and support all material and process improvement projects in the VME Paint Team.

Provide leadership in the decision-making process through pre build and launch events across vehicle lines and through IMG Plants.

Managing Materials Business Across the region.

Support launch engineers and resident engineers in managing build events ensuring adherence to the PAINT launch control plan and new model launch cadence.

Execute and support key decisions and planning for facility changes and program planning in PAINT.

Provide direction and help to develop ICA and PCA for launch issues using the AIMS deck to track concerns specifically around Paint Materials

Bachelor of Engineering or similar. Preference for Chem Eng / Mech Eng

High level of Paint Experience / Paint Facility Experience / OEM or Similar Industry – 10 years plus a minimum.

Experience in a Paint Materials Launch and Material Development

Experience in Paint Materials Problem Solving and Material Changeover and Launch of new Technology.

Experience in Process Engineering or Paint Application for an automotive OEM, or for an OE supplier to an automotive manufacturer

Experience in Failure Mode Avoidance and Process Improvement would be an advantage

Data driven approach to analytical problem solving, and process robustness

Ability to influence cross-functional teams, through development of business case with supporting data, and clear communication to management levels.

Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team, and provide effective technical communication with team members from diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
