Professional Studies Full-time Associate Dean Description

Online South College is conducting a search for the position of Online Associate Dean for the Professional Studies programs. The Associate Dean will play a central role in supporting curriculum development initiatives that strengthen the coherence, relevance, and rigor of the professional studies programs. This includes collaborating closely with the Academic Dean, Department Chairs, and faculty to aid in designing innovative, interdisciplinary courses that reflect current critical thinking and communication skills.

The Associate Dean will work in partnership with the Academic Dean to support curriculum development and alignment with institutional learning outcomes, accreditation standards, and the evolving needs of our student population. The individual selected will be responsible for the daily operation, organization, administration, general effectiveness, and supervision of all Professional Studies Department Chairs in the online modality. An online teaching load is also required as part of the role.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for advancing a high-quality educational experience that prioritizes student success and support.

Responsibilities

• Attend curriculum meetings with Professional Studies Department Chairs.
• Review pass/fail rates with Professional Studies Department Chairs.
• Complete assessment reports with Professional Studies Department Chairs. 
• Oversee course development and course revisions.
• Complete faculty payroll. 
• Maintain a teaching load of eight courses per year. 
• Provide ongoing faculty management, training, and support.
• Represent the online modality in cross-campus professional studies leadership initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

• Evidence of an earned doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines: Legal Studies, Business, Computer Programming or Electrical Engineering.

Experience

• Teaching experience in post-secondary educational setting.
• Leadership experience, preferably overseeing diverse groups of individuals.
• Background in data analysis and/or systems/operation management.
