Description

The Hillside Boutique Hotel in Castroville, TX. is looking for a motivated Restaurant Supervisor/Banquet Captain to assist in managing daily operations and ensuring excellent guest experiences. This role supports the Food & Beverage team and leads the team in delivering high-quality service.

Where You Can Make an Impact:  


  • Coordinate and supervise banquet events from setup to cleanup, ensuring all details are executed per client specifications
  • Lead and manage Banquet staff, servers and bartenders providing direction and support.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage service.
  • Oversee event setup, ensuring proper presentation, cleanliness, and organization of banquet spaces.
  • Monitor service quality during events, resolving any issues promptly to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain adherence to health, safety and sanitation standards.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Restaurant and Banquet staff.
  • Promote a positive team environment and uphold the hotel's reputation and excellence.
  • Supporting Restaurant operations and maintaining high standards of service.
  • Collaborating with management team to ensure the restaurant's success.
  • Supervise staff during shifts and provide guidance as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling and training new team members.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Handle guest concerns and address issues promptly.
  • Monitor restaurant cleanliness and organization.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Process guest payments and oversee cash handling procedures.
  • Support the implementation of promotions and events.
  • Maintain inventory levels and communicate supply needs.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements

Education/Formal Training:

  • High school diploma required; hospitality training preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years in food service or hospitality, with leadership experience.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Previous Restaurant management and Banquet experience
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Knowledge of food safety and service standards.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic financial reporting.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple events simultaneously
