Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 + 12% super
We are seeking an experienced Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Applications Developer to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of technology within DCCEEW by developing advanced AI and machine learning applications that deliver real business outcomes and efficiencies.
Working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will act as both a hands-on developer and a technical guide, applying your expertise to design, build, and implement AI/ML solutions that solve complex problems and support the Department’s strategic priorities.
What You’Ll Do
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML applications into production environments.
- Provide technical consulting and subject matter expertise on AI/ML initiatives.
- Lead the training, validation, and optimisation of machine learning models.
- Manage and integrate large datasets to ensure quality and reliability.
- Contribute to innovation in DevOps practices and agile delivery approaches.
- Provide third-tier support for deployed applications, ensuring stability and performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver secure, high-quality solutions.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need proven experience across the software development lifecycle, including application architecture. You will have strong expertise in AI/ML solution development, model training, and deployment, as well as experience with cloud-based platforms and data engineering (ETL, pipelines, data quality).
This role also requires strong programming and software development skills, applying best practice coding standards and knowledge of cyber security practices in application development.
You will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in collaborative, agile environments.
