Jefferson Outpatient Imaging is seeking a qualified PET/CT technologist for a PRN position in our center city Philadelphia location on the campus of Jefferson Hospital. Weekend shifts are 730a to 230p and weekday shifts are available as needed. We are a busy multi-modality center dedicated to providing high quality imaging services and patient care. Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the PET/CT technologist:
- Administers radioactive material to patients for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes & operates a positron emission technology (PET) and a computerized tomography scanner (CT) at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
- Ensures services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.
Requirements
Experience:
- Up to 5 years experience as a PET/CT Technologist
Education:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
License/Certification Requirements:
Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist as an ARRT-N or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board as a CNMT. Must maintain a current valid registration from either ARRT or CNMT. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
Skills/Abilities:
- Skill in operation of PET/CT equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
- Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
