About The Role

We’re hiring a results-oriented, operationally focused Controller to lead our accounting function across a multi-brand, multi-entity business spanning eCommerce, retail, and manufacturing. You’ll bring discipline, accuracy, and accountability to a complex, high-volume environment—ensuring financial integrity while helping drive our path to profitability.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for a builder who thrives on structure, precision, and partnership. You’ll oversee the accounting organization (four direct reports plus outsourced support) and serve as the connective tissue between Finance, Operations, and Leadership.

This is a hybrid position: 3 days in our Brooklyn, New York office (Tuesday - Thursday). 

What You’Ll Own

Accounting Operations

• Full-stack accounting across a multi-entity structure with inventory, dropship, and hybrid fulfillment models.
• End-to-end monthly close, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy.
• GL consolidation across systems and sources, including SKU-level complexity and ERP integrations.

Cash & Compliance

• Daily cash management, disbursements, reconciliations, and short-term forecasting.
• Audit preparation and coordination with external auditors; ensure GAAP compliance and internal control rigor.

Systems & Process Excellence

• Stewardship of NetSuite and Bill.com; ensure data integrity, process automation, and system optimization.
• Create and scale processes and controls across AR/AP, payroll accounting, and inventory management.

Leadership & Insights

• Partner with FP&A and business leads to align budget vs. actuals and surface actionable insights.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting team.

What You Bring

Must-Haves:

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Experience in manufacturing, eCommerce, and retail environments with complex, SKU-heavy operations.
• Strong technical expertise in multi-entity consolidation, inventory accounting, and U.S. GAAP.
• Systems experience: SAP or Oracle, NetSuite, Bill.com (or similar).
• Proven success building scalable processes, implementing controls, and driving operational accountability.
• Relentless attention to detail and the confidence to call out issues early and clearly.

Nice-To-Haves:

• Experience with ERP migration or implementation
• Prior work in a private equity-backed or high-growth business 
• CPA or equivalent preferred

Compensation

For residents of CT, NJ or NY the compensation for this role is $165,000 - $195,000. Factors used to determine the salary range for a given position may impact what salary within the stated range may be offered to any particular candidate (e.g., years of experience, level of education obtained, etc.). 

This is an exempt role.

This is a hybrid position: 3 days in our Brooklyn, New York office (Tuesday - Thursday). 

This role is eligible for a bonus.
