The Engineering Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving technical excellence, team development, and cross-functional collaboration across Demco’s engineering operations. This position is responsible for aligning engineering standards between locations, overseeing project execution, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Through strategic coordination and hands-on mentorship, the Engineering Manager ensures that Demco’s engineering team delivers high-quality, efficient, and market-responsive solutions.
Primary Duties
Operational Leadership
- Ensure proactive management and leadership of all activities related to the accuracy and application of Demco Engineering Standards.
- Contribute to refining department processes and strengthening risk mitigation strategies.
- Participate in regularly scheduled cross-location meetings to ensure alignment and consistency in engineering standard practices.
- Oversee timely completion of engineering change requests (RFCs); filter and assign tasks to appropriate team members
- Support achievement of department goals through strategic planning and execution
Team Management & Development
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with direct reports to discuss performance, workload, challenges, and solutions.
- Schedule weekly meetings for remote and new hires.
- Schedule bi-weekly or monthly meetings for tenured employees.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports, ensuring alignment with individual and department goals.
- Coordinate onboarding and training for new employees, including intern opportunities.
- Lead weekly department meetings to align goals, share updates, and foster collaboration.
- Promote a culture of motivation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the engineering team.
- Schedule weekly meetings for remote and new hires.
- Schedule bi-weekly or monthly meetings for tenured employees.
Project Oversight
- Generate and manage team workload reports.
- Assess and evaluate project outcomes.
- Provide coaching and feedback to support employee development.
- Oversee team projects, communicate obstacles, and propose solutions that may impact project timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Demco leadership, Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams.
- Participate in cross-functional product development brainstorming sessions to drive innovation and align engineering with market needs.
- Provide engineering support to Customer Service, assisting with technical inquiries and issue resolution.

Requirements
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of engineering experience, and minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role preferred.
- Experience conducting performance reviews, mentoring, and managing team dynamics.
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in agricultural or trailer equipment industries.
- Familiarity with engineering change management processes.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, design principles, and manufacturing processes.
Skills
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving process improvements and innovation.
- Ability to analyze complex engineering challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Strong project management skills, including resource planning, and timeline management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customer Service.
- Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Ability to facilitate meetings, present technical information clearly, and drive consensus across departments.
