Your Mission
HR Manager reporting into Business Unit Director – FMI
The HR manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR for both HO and Field teams that work across multiple locations. They will be required to ensure consistent HR practices are followed, compliance with employment law and full alignment with internal company policies and client expectations.
Reporting to a member of the Leadership Team, the HR Manager is responsible for executing day-to-day HR operations including recruitment, compliance, and employee relations — while also contributing strategically to the FMI business. This includes working collaboratively with head office and field teams to improve communication, operational efficiency, staff engagement, onboarding and offboarding, and ensuring HR initiatives align with both FMI and client objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
HR:
Provide advice, recommendations, and general HR information to all stakeholders of the business and make recommendations where necessary.
- Keep abreast of both Irish and European employment legislation ensuring all policies & procedures are up to date and all areas within FMI adhere to the relevant legislation
- Communicate any employment changes to all stakeholders of the business
- Ensure all Head Office & Field staff have correct HR documentation on file including relevant contracts of employment and training documentation
- Ensure all FMI staff are eligible to work in Ireland in line with EU legislation
- Manage the new starter and leaver process in conjunction with the finance department
- Monitor and manage Health and Safety requirements (First Aiders, Fire Marshalls, Risk Assessments)
- Manage FMI’s performance appraisal process
- Manage the Data Protection requirements of the business
- Conduct and report on any disciplinary and grievance issues in line with company policy and employment legislation
- Advise managers and employees on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent handling of all cases
- Represent the company at WRC where required
- Manage all accidents and incidents and ensure correct reporting procedures are followed
- Update FMI Employee Handbook as required and ensure the handbook policies and procedures are adhered to
- Full management for FMI’s HR System (Personio)
- Manage all aspects of ISO audit accreditation and ad hoc client specific HR audits and HR requests
- Manage adhoc HR projects that may be required for the business
- Report to management monthly on all HR metrics
Recruitment:
- Overall responsibility of FMI recruitment function ensuring all stakeholders are adhering to the correct processes and procedures
- Manage the budget allocated for this function and the 3rd party platforms including Indeed, Jobs.ie etc
- Provide recruitment reporting analytics and insights to optimise the function
- Support with all recruitment events and alternative ways of attracting talent
- Ensure smooth functionality between Personio and Indeed
Training:
- Manage the training function, ensuring compliance with legislative, company, and ISO requirements
- Oversee the updating and deployment of the Moodle platform across the business
- Work with managers to ensure all training content is accurate, current, and fit for purpose
- Maintain control and approval of training updates to ensure consistency, compliance, and audit readiness
Managing 3rd Party Suppliers and Contractors:
- Liaising with insurance Brokers as required
- Liaising with Company Solicitors & HR advisory panels as required
- Liaising with consultants & auditors for ISO NQA certifications
- Communicate and prepare submissions to the DPO as required
- Prepare submissions and represent the Company at any WRC hearings
Sustainability Programme
- Lead the Sustainability group
- Drive the agenda across the business
- Seek out new and innovative areas to grow our sustainability advocacy

- Work with LT on ad hoc projects including but not limited to:
- FMI Net Zero Plan
- Ecovadis Accreditation
- Tender Submissions

Your Profile
Qualifications/Experience- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- 8–10 years’ experience in HR, including at least 3–5 years at HR Manager or Senior HR Business Partner level
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR compliance
- Experience handling employee relations, recruitment, and onboarding
- Exposure to ISO audits and HR systems (Personio preferred)
- Experience managing training (ideally with Moodle or similar LMS)
- Line management experience
