About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sous Chef to join our Operations team. This full-time, hourly position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of kitchen operations and delivering exceptional culinary experiences. As the Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, maintaining top-tier food quality, and upholding health and safety standards. What You'Ll Do
- Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menu items with creativity and consistency.
- Supervise kitchen staff to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to recipes and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the team to maintain an organized and clean kitchen environment, following food safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering continuous skill development and teamwork.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage food costs, and ensure timely ordering of supplies.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Operations team to develop new menu items and improve current offerings.
- Oversee kitchen operations during the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth workflows and excellent service.
- Identify and resolve kitchen-related issues to minimize downtime and improve overall kitchen performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety protocols.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Relevant culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
