The role holder will be responsible for developing and delivering the global procurement base oil supply & demand strategy to ensure BP meets its business objectives at minimum cost through effective management of suppliers and customers in accordance with agreed commercial terms. The role requires a strategic attitude, strong partner engagement skills, ability to work collaboratively across functions and regions, as well as experience in managing complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize BP’s global procurement base oil supply and demand position
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks related to base oil supplies and customer demand
- Lead negotiations with key suppliers and customers to secure favorable commercial terms
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement category strategies aligned with overall business goals
- Monitor industry changes and regulatory updates impacting base oil procurement activities
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with base oil supplies and customer demand fluctuations
- Provide regular reports on procurement performance metrics and market insights to senior leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical), Economics, Finance, or other relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commodity trading, preferably in the oil and gas sector
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage complex relationships with multiple partners
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret market data and forecast future trends
- Experience with Agile methodologies and digital transformation programs
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while adapting quickly to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of relevant software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and CRM systems
