We are seeking an entrepreneurial and highly experienced executive in Supply Chain Management to join our growing team in Taiwan. This pivotal role will be instrumental in establishing and nurturing our manufacturing ecosystem within the vibrant Taiwan semiconductor industry and its surrounding countries. You will be responsible for building strategic vendor relationships, ensuring seamless execution from product development through high-volume manufacturing. This is currently an Individual Contributor (IC) role, with the potential to build and lead a team as the business expands. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ecosystem Development: Scope out and develop the local manufacturing ecosystem, including foundries, Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) providers, FAU vendors, equipment vendors etc.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Build, cultivate, and manage strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and partners throughout the product lifecycle (development and high-volume manufacturing - HVM).
  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and qualify new suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure optimal terms for cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Supply Chain Operations: Lead the operational aspects of the supply chain in Taiwan/Asia, ensuring on-time delivery, quality control, and efficient inventory management.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers, driving continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams to implement supply chain strategies with overall company objectives.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and the competitive landscape within the Asian semiconductor manufacturing sector.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Must have experience in supply chain management within the semiconductor and/or hardware industry.
  • Must have a strong, established network within the Asian Semiconductor Ecosystem (Foundries and OSAT).
  • Proven track record of successfully scoping out, building, and managing vendor relationships from concept to high-volume production.
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, including wafer fabrication, assembly, and test.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, consistently meeting deadlines for projects within target schedules.
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with ability to conduct high-stakes technical meetings in either language.
  • About 20% travel, locally and regionally within Asia, will be required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Optical assembly/test experience will be preferred.
  • Master’s degree
