The Commercial Analyst, Pricing & Profitability (CA) shall develop and/or improve tools to enable ongoing and efficient volume/price/sales/GM/trend analysis and reports, and to lead profitability improvement through strategic and tactical pricing actions. This role will require extensive coordination with Manufacturing, Finance, Tech Ops, Procurement and other Product Management colleagues to ensure deep alignment amongst these functions in order to build healthy and efficient forecasting (SIOP), budgeting, measurement and conclusion/recommendation processes. Scope will include all Advanced Material Science (AMS NA--Tubing and Medical Compounds) manufacturing sites. The CA will also monitor and analyze the North America sales opportunity portfolio to ensure growth opportunities are continuously measured as a basis for assessment. In addition, the CA shall be responsible for the compound & tubing demand forecasting (SIOP) process & deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Responsible for profitability and pricing analysis of the current customer portfolio. Analysis will include volume/sales/GM variations to budget and previous year by product/customer/segment, as well as identification of key drivers and changes.
- Work with Operations, Finance, Technology and other functions to maintain and refine costing and pricing tools to support pricing decisions, including close alignment on and understanding of all cost elements.
- Provide detailed customer profitability and sales analyses to the commercial team to identify and lead opportunities to improve GM $’s and %’s.
- Work with Commercial team in planning and implementation of pricing campaigns, including tracking of performance against price targets. Oversee execution of actions for compound and medical tubing product lines, 80/20 Initiatives.
- Develop standard product and enhanced offerings and associated price lists, product segmentation analysis.
- Analyze quotes, win/loss data and customer feedback to understand competitive market environment, and provide feedback on areas of opportunity/improvement in order to position differentiated solutions for long-term sustainability.
- Partner with Supply Chain to provide insight and further refinement of the commercial forecast
- Report and analyze new business development pipeline to support sales leadership in understanding new product/segment growth potential and driving sales actions.
- Work with Commercial team to determine value pricing for new business activity and quotations.
- The raw material demand signal will come from within SIOP
- Review/Audit purchase orders as needed to ensure that customer pricing is correct and product specifications are in line with operational capabilities.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement by:
- Assist in Identifying, implementing and tracking price improvement initiatives with customers while maintaining business.
- Assist in Identifying and addressing any opportunities to reduce cost, improve product/process and/or improve overall operations (cross-functionally).

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in finance, engineering sciences or business.
- Experience:
- Five (5) or more years full-time experience in financial analysis, product management, sales, or marketing.
- Experience in finance in a manufacturing environment, specifically medical device industry a plus.
- Track record of identifying margin growth opportunities through detailed marketing/sales/financial analysis
- Experience/understanding of cash flow analysis and pricing analysis preferred.
- Experience in commercializing new products and services preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required with advance skillset in Excel is a must
- Due to extensive support of plants in the EU, location must be in the Eastern Time Zone
- Skills: Excellent analytical capabilities and proactive independence in solving a broad range of situations and problems under tight deadlines: Must be able to design analytical and tracking tools and processes from scratch; Must be able to communicate/monitor/measure/lead initiatives to ensure proper execution by Sales and other functions; Excellent interpersonal communication (verbally and in writing) with a diverse range of people across various functions
- Ability to travel up to 20%
