Technical Partners provides a range of support services, delivered through business partnering and the provision of specialist technical support with our teams. We work closely with academic colleagues and senior managers to spotlight partnering with Schools, Research Groups, and other stakeholders within Griffith Health and to meet strategic and operational technical support priorities across Griffith Health.

Job Description

As Team Leader- Clinical Skills and Simulation, you’ll lead a multi-campus technical team to deliver immersive simulation and practical learning that prepares the next generation of nurses, midwives and health professionals.

Your leadership will ensure students train in safe, innovative and industry-standard environments, ready to make an impact from day one.

Here’s how you’ll make it matter:

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing technical team across multiple campuses, fostering collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience in performance management: setting clear goals, delivering regular reviews, addressing underperformance, and celebrating success.
  • Ability to inspire and challenge high performers, fostering continuous skill development and innovation.
  • Partner with Course Convenors and academic staff to plan and deliver practical and immersive simulated learning experiences that enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • Oversee the management of teaching laboratories, workshops and simulation spaces — ensuring safety, efficiency and innovation.
  • Manage equipment maintenance, procurement and installation, ensuring industry-standard functionality across all facilities.
  • Drive excellence in technical operations through reporting, process optimisation and best-practice documentation.
  • Collaborate on cross-campus projects, timetables, rosters and special events including Open Day and community engagement activities.
  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing or Midwifery ( highly regarded).

This is a continuing, full time position based primarily at one of Griffith University’s Gold Coast, Nathan or Logan campuses. As a multi-campus University,  with the School of Nursing and Midwifery operating across these campuses, there is an expectation that your time will be distributed equitably across the campuses.

Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

  • Salary Range
  • The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW 7 range $101,068 - $109,496 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $118,249 - $128,110 per annum.

You’ll hold relevant tertiary qualifications and bring at least four years’ experience leading teams and delivering immersive simulation or equivalent expertise.

You’Ll Also Demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on collaboration and performance.
  • Experience coordinating complex technical operations across multiple sites.
  • Proficiency in simulation technologies, laboratory management and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in the student learning experience.
