Job Description

Position Summary

Under the immediate direction of clinical professionals, performs a variety of patient care, clerical and environmental support duties in a treatment setting.

Principal Duties:

1. 1.   Performs general housekeeping duties in a treatment area:
2. a.   Maintains par levels of supplies to include sterile and linen supplies.. b.   Maintains cleanliness of scrub sink area.
3. c.   Cleans and disinfects surgical suite and equipment. d.   Removes sealed bags of trash and linen,
4. e.   Transports used linen, instruments and other items to the decontamination area of CSP.
5. f.    Damp dusts all flat surfaces and overhead lights with hospital approved germicide on disposable wipes.
6. g.   Removes and replaces anesthesia disposable suction containers
7. a.    Transports patient to and from the operating room.
8. b.   Prepares clean stretcher for patient transport and obtains additional equipment (patient monitor) as needed.
9. c.   Verifies patient identity.
10. d.   Provides comfort measures as appropriate (warm blankets, pillow, positioning).

Qualifications

Education/Knowledge

Attained Level: Entry

Completed Course Work/Program: High School equivalency

Applicable Experience

Experience (years): Required:  6 months in a patient care setting preferably in a hospital  Preferred: 1 year

Technical/Clinical Skills

• Microsoft Office Suite Skill Level 
• Word: Basic      
• Basic knowledge and working experience with Medical Terminology
• Communication Skills & Abilities
• Select highest applicable level:  To exchange factual information.
