Job Description

A key member of the UK & Ireland organisation, Allergan Aesthetics, is looking for an Area Sales Manager (ASM) to join our dynamic Sales Leadership team. The incumbent will be field-based and have responsibility for the Outer Regions across the UK, which includes central and south England (excluding London and surrounding areas) and Scotland.

In this exciting role, you will be fully responsible for the performance and execution of the commercial activities for your region. This role includes leading and coaching the Outer Regions Product Specialist (PS) team to maximise short- and long- term sales performance results, while placing the patient at the centre of any efforts and operating within AbbVie’s/AA’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations. The role covers AA’s leading portfolio of products within facial aesthetics.

Key Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Lead and create an engaging and motivational atmosphere for the sales representatives to excel at delivering results; manage the sales processes that allow for the region to perform at an optimal level 
  • Deliver sales performance and relevant Brand Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet or exceed regional sales targets within expense budgets
  • Attract, retain, develop, engage, lead and coach a team of Product Specialists (PS) within a high functioning sales team; provide coaching to support representatives to develop their selling, product differentiation and business skills
  • Achieve or overachieve activity metrics across team of PSs to ensure resource is efficiently and effectively deployed across the region
  • Ensure business priorities, activities, and engagement plans are aligned with brand strategy and priorities to optimise strategic momentum and drive brands success
  • Oversee and support the development of territory business plans to ensure that they reflect the opportunities in the territory and are aligned to the brand strategies
  • Regularly analyse, measure, and report in-field activities and utilise these data in field management/coaching, including completion of coaching reports
  • Create regional business plan for presentation and discussion with Leadership Team, showcasing team performance, KPIs and growth drivers
  • Initiate and foster cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders in Marketing, Business Excellence, and Professional Education to ensure strategic and tactical alignment, including creation and execution of account plans and customer activities
  • Establish and cultivate effective relationships with the top Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the region
  • Support team of PSs to deliver exceptional customer excellence across the region
  • Monitor and consolidate the outcomes of account plans to provide timely qualitative market intelligence information, to feed the brand planning process and to anticipate market needs and/or changes
  • Develop professional and career development plans for each team member and review and update on a regular basis

Qualifications

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science or related field, or equivalent
  • Sales management experience, medical aesthetics experience is an asset
  • Relevant business experience with proven track record of success within biotech/pharma/medical devices. DTC, B2B experience an asset
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, management and coaching of cross-functional teams or functional individuals and teams
  • Head Office experience, an asset
