Your Role:
EMD Electronics in Tamaqua, PA is seeking a Research Engineer. In this role you are part of the laboratory team working on the synthesis, purification, and packaging of specialty gases that support the global semiconductor industry. This role involves working in a collaborative lab environment with a strong focus on safety, precision, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Handle industrial gas cylinders and perform lab-scale manipulation of gaseous compounds.
- Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot gas handling equipment.
- Document laboratory activities, maintain quality records, and compile experimental data for reference.
- Assemble and document material property information, providing technical details to customers and end-users.
- Conduct analytical procedures on gas products and mixtures.
- Assist in laboratory synthesis, scale-up, and optimization of novel products.
- Operate computer-based instrumentation and accurately document observations.
- Participate actively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment that prioritizes a comprehensive safety culture.
- Package gases for global distribution in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Physical Attributes:
- Lifting up to 25lbs with assistance.
- Wearing PPE such as steel toe boots, respirator, etc.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or other Engineering or Science field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Experience in data analysis using Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with laboratory or industrial chemical processing equipment.
- Knowledge of basic physical properties of compressed and liquefied gases.
Pay Range for this position: $94,500.00 - $141,700.00 per year
