Overview of the Team  
IPC’s Global People function is a progressive and dynamic group of professionals who are rapidly transforming and enhancing the impact of the People function at IPC. This role sits within IPC’s HR Business Partnering Team, which operates a dual-alignment model: HRBPs are assigned either to business groups (e.g., Product, Engineering, Finance etc.) or to locations (key offices). Together, the team translates business priorities into people plans while ensuring a consistent, high-quality employee experience locally. Reporting to IPC’s VP, Global Head of People, you will collaborate with the Global People Team and key stakeholders to aligning people plans to business priorities and ensuring a consistent employee experience. 

Role Overview:

As an Associate People Partner, you’ll work with Global People Partners to put our people strategy into practice. You’ll partner with key stakeholders, build trusted relationships with managers and employees, and help run engagement programs across your client groups. While this role will be based in the New York, NY office, it will also require travel to our Fairfield, CT office twice per month.

This role will primarily support our U.S. and Canada locations, while also contributing to regional and global projects and programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Business Partnering: Partner with managers to guide on people strategy, policy, headcount planning, and role design.
  • Culture & Employee Experience: Drive engagement initiatives, foster an inclusive culture, and ensure IPC’s values are embedded in daily practices and leadership behaviors.
  • Employee Relations: Support U.S. and Canada employee relations, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes. Partner with counsel where needed on employment law and investigations. 
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Partner with TA on recruitment campaigns, offers, and market alignment. Oversee onboarding plans, orientation, and probation objectives for new hires 
  • Immigration Management: Partner with counsel on U.S. immigration matters (H-1B, L-1, green cards) and provide employee support.
  • Talent Management: Support talent reviews, succession planning, and career pathing. Provide coaching to stakeholders to drive high performance, engagement, and efficiency.
  • Talent Development: Contribute to the development of internal training tools and resources. Identify upskilling/reskilling needs, individual development plans and track progress and outcomes.
  • Reward & Recognition: Partner with Compensation and TA on salary planning, variable pay programs, and compensation alignment. Drive successful annual performance, compensation, and recognition processes.
  • Transformation & People Programs: Support change initiatives and contribute to global programs such as Wellness; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI); and Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG).
  • Data & HR Technology: Use people data to identify trends and inform proposals and decisions. Work with People Ops team to ensure HRIS accuracy and integrity.
  • Compliance & Regulatory: Monitor U.S. and Canada employment laws and ensure compliance with all legal changes and requirements.
  • HR Projects & Trends: Support HR Leadership with strategic initiatives, contribute to global programs, and provide insights on emerging HR trends and best practices. 

Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role: 

  • 3+ years’ experience working within an HR function supporting managers and employees in the US; exposure to Canada is a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of US employment practices; able to partner with Legal/counsel on casework and investigations.  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trusted relationships with employees and managers. 
  • Proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving. 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support projects effectively. 
  • Comfortable facilitating sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.  

Desired Skills And Experience:

  • Experience supporting multi-site, hybrid teams across US/Canada time zones. 
  • Exposure to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities. 
  • Coaching and influencing skills; able to challenge constructively while remaining open to feedback. 
  • Interest in developing knowledge across the full HR spectrum (e.g., performance management, talent development, employee relations, wellbeing, and benefits). 
  • Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to stay informed about HR trends, tools, and best practices.

Additional Information:
