Command Center Specialist (Nights)

The Job

The Command Center Specialist is responsible for monitoring all dashboards, data centers, and incident changes while also documenting and communicating all impactful events to the client and leadership. The Command Center Specialist is also responsible for monitoring operations and will need to communicate day-to-day security issues, respond to and address security concerns as they arise, and document all incidents in detail. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational data and organize it accordingly.
  • Monitor and evaluate price points regularly for hash price, energy, and BTC.
  • Support all incidents, changes, and service requests within the data center space in a timely manner.
  • Document all major incidents and notify all teams involved in recovery within the data center space.
  • Draft concise and accurate situational reports. Prepare and present briefing materials.
  • Coordinate with the managers on physical access control systems, identity management, facilities access, and access needs for special events.
  • Monitoring of the data center space and reporting of any suspicious activity.
  • Coordination with on-site teams to take necessary actions during emergency scenarios such as weather, fire, and active shooter.
  • Work as a member of a team to continuously improve operational effectiveness, improve SOPs, and deliver support to the customer.
  • Position requires long hours; night, weekend, and holiday work; and managing stressful situations and conflict resolutions.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication both within the team and with coworkers, teammates, and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • An associate degree in a related field of study equivalent experience is required.
  • 3+ years of operations center, command center or mission-critical experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • A strong understanding of the Windows operating system is required.
  • Strong IT troubleshooting skills – network, platform, and storage required.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and applications required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience with IP Cameras required
  • Experience with Access Control required
  • Shift work; flexibility in work hours is required
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of BTC mining operations and standards
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience with Atlassian applications such as Confluence, Jira preferred
  • Experience with Slack, Zabbix, Sigma, and Zoom preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of data center principles is preferred.
  • General electrical engineering knowledge preferred.
  • An understanding of ITIL delivery concepts is preferred.
  • Experience or Certification(s) with Genetec Security Software preferred.

Location

 Austin, TX. Occasional travel between data centers.

Travel

Minimal travel may be required as needed.

Work Environment

This job is operated in a professional office, warehouse, and data center environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment, including laptop computers, photocopiers, smartphones, ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.
